Out of Italy: Works by Luigi Boccherini, Francesco Geminiani, and Antonio Vivaldi
A Boston native, Phoebe Carrai has established herself as one of the world’s preeminent virtuosos on the violoncello, performing regularly with the Arcadian Academy, Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra, and our own BEMF Orchestra, among many others. She joins with world-class collaborators for a diverse and intriguing survey of chamber music from the diaspora of Italian composers who sought fame and fortune outside of their homeland. Audiences in London, Madrid, Vienna, and across the continent were enraptured by the uniquely dynamic virtuosity of these Italian masters. This very special performance features intimate and passionate works by Vivaldi, Corelli, Boccherini, Geminiani, and other composers, and celebrates the release of Out of Italy, the ensemble’s inaugural CD, on the Avie Records label.
