Canti Carnascialeschi: A Florentine Carnival
Founded in Vienna in 2004, Cinquecento has become one of Europe’s premier vocal quintets, earning high praise for their concerts and recordings focusing on the diverse musical styles of 16th-century Europe. For their BEMF début, they explore the sacred and the profane at the Florentine Carnival creating a colorful portrait encompassing the austere liturgy of the Cathedral and the bawdy songs of pleasure from out on the streets of Florence.
