Marc-Antoine Charpentier: Litanies & Pastorale sur la naissance de notre Seigneur Jésus-Christ
Since its formation in 2009, Sébastien Daucé and Ensemble Correspondances have dedicated themselves to the performance of 17th-century sacred music from France, winning acclaim the world over for concerts and recordings of elegance and intensity. The 15 singers and instrumentalists of Ensemble Correspondances make their North American début in a sumptuous program of vocal music composed by Charpentier while residing with his longtime patron, the pious and wealthy Marie de Lorraine, Duchesse de Guise, for whose team of household musicians he wrote his most highly praised works.
