Dreams of the Wounded Musketeer
Founded in 2012, ACRONYM has earned a reputation for fearless performances crackling with enthusiasm and joyous camaraderie with a roster of some of the finest young instrumentalists in North America. Their hotly anticipated BEMF début imagines a mortally wounded military trumpeter as his musical life flashes before his eyes, from the dissonant seconda prattica of his youth, to the wild stylus phantasticus of his adulthood, and finally a vivid musical retelling of his final battle. Thrill to this spectacularly rendered fantasy featuring Baroque masterpieces by such composers as Biber, Valentini, Bertali, and Schmelzer.
“Consummate style, grace and unity of spirit.”
