Performance Masterclasses

Performance Masterclasses and Lecture-Demonstrations by distinguished Festival musicians will be offered during the week. Class performances will be pre-recorded, with live coaching and conversation between performers and teachers, with time for questions from the audience. Masterclasses will be presented live on Zoom and YouTube, and remain online until Sunday, July 11, 2021.

Join Laura Jeppesen, master performer and teacher of the viola da gamba, as she shares a behind-the-scenes view of the life of a 21st century viola da gamba player. Laura will read from 16th-18th century treatises and discuss how these sources of information lend insight to today’s players of the viol. A combination of excerpts performed by Laura and commentary will precede a Q&A for audience members.
