Volunteering for the June 2025 Festival & Exhibition

BEMF Volunteers have been the lifeblood of our biennial Festivals since the very first Boston Early Music Festival in 1981! This major international event – gathering over 20,000 enthusiasts to Boston every two years – simply would not be possible without the dedication and enthusiasm of our magnificent BEMF Volunteers who are active at every opera and concert performance, as well as all public events throughout the Festival Week.  Of course, volunteering at BEMF cannot possibly suit all schedules and career ambitions, but, if you’re interested in joining our team of BEMF Volunteers, we would love to have you!

Applications are now being accepted for 2025 BEMF Volunteers.

There is a broad selection of volunteer opportunities during the 2025 Festival, from Sunday, June 8 through Sunday, June 15, including ushering at performances, assisting at the Exhibition, and managing admission at Masterclasses, workshops, lectures, symposia, and other concurrent events. In exchange for your time and efforts, BEMF Volunteers will receive:

• complimentary admission to all events for which you volunteer
• a Staff Shirt
• a Festival Program
• a 2025 Exhibition Pass for admission to the world-famous Exhibition and all Concurrent Events

Be sure to follow the helpful checklist included on the 2025 Volunteer Application so we know your availability during the Festival Week and for the Volunteer Orientation Session. Applications should be submitted by Thursday, May 29, 2025 and early submission is greatly appreciated. Volunteer slots are filled on a roughly first-come, first-served basis, though we will make every effort to honor your preferences when possible.
