Directions
Public Transportation – Red Line and all buses to Harvard Square
Take the MBTA Red Line to the Harvard station stop. Exit to Harvard Yard. Walk into the Yard and follow the path to the left, passing through the gate and heading towards the Science Center. Walk around the Science Center to the left. The entrance to the Music Building will be on the right; Paine Hall is located on the second floor as you enter the Music Building.
Driving from the North
Take Route 93 South to Exit 26 and take Storrow Drive Westbound. Proceed about 4 miles to the Harvard Square exit. Turn right onto JFK Street. Continue through four lights to Harvard Square; the Out of Town newsstand will be on the right. After passing the Out of Town newsstand, stay to the right. After the next light, the road will fork. Bear right at the fork and go under the bridge. At the next fork in the road, stay to the left on Cambridge Street. At the next traffic light, turn left onto Quincy Street, then left onto Kirkland Street. The road will immediately bend to the right, becoming Oxford Street.
To go directly to the entrance of Paine Hall, take the first left off of Oxford Street into a Harvard University parking lot, driving under a glass walkway. Follow the road to the end and the Music Building will be on the left. Parking in this lot is prohibited without a Harvard University permit.
Driving from the South
Take Route 93 North to Exit 18, Massachusetts Avenue. Follow the signs to Massachusetts Avenue and turn right onto Massachusetts Avenue. Continue straight past Symphony Hall and take the next wide left onto Westland Avenue (do not take the sharp left onto St. Stephen Street). Follow the signs to Storrow Drive Westbound and follow it for approximately 4 miles to the Harvard exit. Turn right onto JFK Street. Continue through four lights to Harvard Square; the Out of Town newsstand will be on the right. After passing the Out of Town newsstand, stay to the right. After the next light, the road will fork. Bear right at the fork and go under the bridge. At the next fork in the road, stay to the left on Cambridge Street. At the next traffic light, turn left onto Quincy Street, then left onto Kirkland Street. The road will immediately bend to the right, becoming Oxford Street.

Take Route 90 East to Exit 18 (a left exit), Cambridge/Allston. After the toll booth, bear right towards the Cambridge exit. At the second set of lights—just before the bridge—turn left onto Storrow Drive Westbound. Proceed about 1/2 mile to the Harvard Square exit. Turn right onto JFK Street. Continue through four lights to Harvard Square; the Out of Town newsstand will be on the right. After passing the Out of Town newsstand, stay to the right. After the next light, the road will fork. Bear right at the fork and go under the bridge. At the next fork in the road, stay to the left on Cambridge Street. At the next traffic light, turn left onto Quincy Street, then left onto Kirkland Street. The road will immediately bend to the right, becoming Oxford Street.
